Concord, NC Chiropractic Plan for Pain Relief and Prevention with Exercise

April 20, 2021

“Must I exercise?”

“Yes, you should if you want to feel better quicker and prevent pain,“ your Concord, NC chiropractic encourages.

“How long do I have to exercise every day?”

“Not long, just effectively,” Pure Chiropractic suggests.

Exercise is not every Concord, NC back pain or neck pain patient’s ’thing’. Pure Chiropractic knows. Exercise is also so important to our back and neck pain patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Concord, NC chiropractic patients every step of the way to get the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain relief and prevention.

OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Neck pain sufferers know how pain may reduce their ability to look around comfortably. Such neck pain patients were assessed for their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test. They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine exercise session. Half of them were then also treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine levels. Those who performed the exercise program and were treated did significantly better as far as range of motion, pain intensity reduction, and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another research project revealed that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as opposed to 15 or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the best benefit to pain intensity reduction while minimizing any negative effects on neural function of the affected nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Pure Chiropractic always stresses that the appropriate exercise done in the right way doesn’t have to take long to be useful! Plus, exercise puts some control in the hands of its sufferer since exercise can be performed anytime.

OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Incorporating exercise training into the multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain makes sense. Such back pain involves so many people worldwide and is a leading source of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back pain patient to self-management. Recently, researchers posed that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health struggles in such back pain patients - were improved with options like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga, and stabilization exercise. (3) Pure Chiropractic agrees! Exercise is invaluable on so many fronts.
